In an extraordinary and complex procedure, two high end quality steel compositions are continuously folded and compounded. This process is repeated about 10 times. Thus, steel with premium quality and up to 128 layers is created which combines the best characteristics of the steel. The result: Maximum hardness, flexibility and durability of the edges.

Another effect of these complex procedures is the beautiful fiber structures. Only a few qualified craftsmen in Japan are able to influence the fiber structure through the forging process to design beautiful patterns on the tops of the shears. The patterns are unique on each of the shears, like a fingerprint and hence a proof of real craftmanship made in Japan!
